"I initially went to Becky for some alterations and ended up joining her evening class. It’s a great way to spend an evening. Her expert guidance helps you achieve making garments you never thought you could make. Becky’s enthusiasm is contagious! I now want to try making something more ambitious."Paula Geear, Heathfield
As a child I used to watch my Mum at her sewing machine, creating wonderful clothes for my brother and I from jumble sale bargains. At seven, I had my own hand – powered Singer and became initiated into the world of dressmakers when I sewed through my own finger, ouch!! But this would not put me off and over 20 years later, I still sew everyday.
After studying Costume at Wimbledon School of Art, I worked in film and theatre as a costume maker, then started my own Bespoke Bridal and Occasionwear business.
I started teaching classes in 2009 after noticing that sewing (especially dressmaking) seemed to be a dying art, yet more and more people wanted to learn this brilliant skill.
