Description
Students will need to bring:
- A packed lunch — You are welcome to use our microwave/toaster facilities at the studio!
- Choose a festive colour scheme! I like unbleached linen with white lacey bits, silver and frosty grey. You might prefer traditional red, or rich jewel colours like emerald or sapphire. Your choice.
- Stitch’n’Tear – a fat quarter (available to purchase in the studio)
- Medium-weight cotton in one of your colours – a fat quarter
- A selection of lightweight fabric pieces to cut into strips – silk, cotton, sari silk ribbons, festive fabrics
- A large felt square in one of your colours for the back of your baubles
- A few narrow ribbons, lace, ricrac, thicker threads and wools including sparkly metallics, stranded cotton embroidery floss
- Perlé cotton thread – size 8 is good – see below re. sewing needle
- Sequins
- Small beads – for the baubles in the photo I used Gütermann rocailles size 9/0
- Hand sewing needle – that fits your beads. I use a crewel needle, size 7
- Quilting clips – if you have them
- Sewing machine and machine embroidery threads in your colour scheme, including a metallic (gold/silver).
- Sewing machine, including free-motion embroidery foot. Please bring the manual and don’t forget the power lead and foot pedal!
We highly recommend that you bring your own machine to this class (please call Becky to discuss machine requirements 01825 841311).
